WHOOOO!!!
Hope that got your attention, Maniacs!
Training camp for the 2010-11 season begins October 11. If that seems like a really long way down the road, and if you just can't fathom going that long without hanging out with all of your fellow Maniacs, then read on!
The IceMen Maniacs Booster Club would like to invite all fans - whether you're in the Booster Club or not - to join us throughout the off-season at our "Cool Summer" fan gatherings. While nothing on the planet can match the atmosphere of an IceMen home game, that doesn't mean we can't bring a little taste of IceMen Mania to other events this summer.
We're planning a handful of gatherings (at least one each month) throughout the off-season, leading up to the start of camp and the 2010-11 season. Please note that these are not all "free" so to speak - you need to buy your own tickets/food/etc, depending on the event. We're simply planning ways for everybody to get together and have some fun.
Come to as many gatherings as you're able - one, all, or somewhere in between. We're including a variety of events on several different days of the week, so hopefully there's something for everyone.
Here is the current schedule of events:
Fri. June 4: Stanley Cup Finals Viewing Party
Sat. June 5: Ohio River Bearcats Semi-Pro Football
Thu. June 24: Evansville Otters Baseball
Sat. July 10: IceMen Day at Ellis Park
Sat. July 31: Camel & Ostrich Day at Ellis Park
Sat. Aug. 7: Roller Girls of Southern Indiana
Wed. Aug. 25: Evansville Otters Baseball
(Details about each event are later in this post.)
Dates are still TBD for 2010-11 IceMen Tryouts (if we have them) and a September party/bonfire we're hoping to put together for a few weeks before next season starts. Info will be added as details are finalized.
We'll be promoting these events both here on the forum and via Facebook, so hopefully we'll have a good turnout at all of them.
Mark your calendars and make sure your IceMen gear is clean, so you can wear it and tell the world that you're proud of your Davidson Cup champions!
