Taking a look around the league, Chi-Town and Madison still haven't announced their regular season rosters, so we can only go by the camp rosters that have been on LeagueStat for weeks. However, the other 3 teams have made things official. Let's take a minute to scout the opposition...

BATTLE CREEK REVOLUTION

Forwards: Nick Bet, Mason Cossette, Dan Kohanchuk, Chris Affinati, Jonah Ragowski, Joe Gerbe, Rick Gadwa, Shawn McNulty, Kye Moje, Jakub Fojtik

Quick thoughts:
They've only got 18 of the 20 available spots filled. Looks like they have 6 returning players, including one (Kohanchuk) who started last season with the IceMen. I'm sure Cossette will continue being a pest, since that's what he does best. Interesting that Justin Grevious didn't return in net. Anyone hear if he stuck at a higher level? He was in camp with the ECHL's Victoria Salmon Kings, but was released on October 11th...

CHICAGO BLAZE

Forwards: Aaron Mattey, Chris Mattey, Nigel Hawryliw, Ryan Fultz, Pat Lee, Pat Doyle, Kyle Thompson, TJ Schneider, Mike Maier

Defense: Joe Pace, Arik Lebda, Bill Horton, Mark Hammersmith, Kevin High, Nick Elligsen

Goalies: Adam Dekker, Jon Smarsh

Quick thoughts:
Lots of new blood here, with the biggest additions being Hawryliw and Fultz. While Fultz hasn't played in North America since 2006-07, he has 290 ECHL games (and 198 ECHL points) on his resume. They're crowing about Lee and Doyle, so it'll be interesting to see what they bring to the table. They're also tooting Dekker's horn because he has IHL experience, but his numbers with Flint last year were pretty ugly. It's worth noting that they're carrying just 17 players, so if anyone gets hurt, they'll be stuck with a short bench.

DETROIT HITMEN

Forwards: Ryan Webb, Brad Bohlinger, John Finstrom, Peter Pritchett, Zach Crandle, Charles Harvey, Scott O'Connor, AJ Sanders, Dan Isenhath, Andrew Kryczynski

Defense: Ryan Sexsmith, Matt Mosley, Emory Lovse, Ian Jacobs, Dan Oleksy, BJ Bellioti, Omar Jackson

Goalies: Bill Ruggiero, Paul Soli

Quick thoughts:
They've got a trio of former IceMen on the blueline. (Interesting that Mosley and Lovse have converted to D.) Webb had 38 points in 14 games before the Dragons went kerplunk last year, and Bohlinger and Oleksy were among his teammates. Harvey had 30 points in 19 games for BC last year. At 38, Finstrom could be the oldest player in the AAHL. Finally, Ruggiero could be a find in net. Since 2004, he's played 108 games at the AA level, compiling a solid 44-38-10 record and a respectable 3.52 GAA. The Hitmen are starting with 19 players, leaving 1 spot open.
