The All-Star Weekend will consist of a Skills Competition on January 8th and the All-Star Game January 9th. There will be other activities scheduled for the weekend, but all on ice activities will take place at Swonder Ice Arena. "This is a great day to the city and for our organization," IceMen General Manager Chip Rossetti said. "The reason that Evansville received the honor of hosting this weekend is solely on our fans. They can out in huge numbers to support the IceMen this past season and the league took notice of it." The All-Star Weekend will consist of a number of activities over the two day event, both on and off the ice. The Evansville IceMen have also announced that, as an IceMen season ticket holder, fans will receive admission to all of the weekend's activities. Season Tickets and Box Seats are still available by contacting the IceMen front office at 812-435-8971 or by visiting www.evansvilleicemen.com. Woot!!!

I am actively working on new details for the All-Star weekend. Hopefully, we will have an announcement on that soon.

Gotta still have a beer garden, so our announcer can go get liquored up before each game! :) Regarding the Jillian's space at Aztar, I was quite disappointed when they came right out and nixed Dave & Buster's. I'd love to have one of those in this town. But since D&B isn't in the cards, I'm rooting for a Fuddruckers. Probably won't happen, but I can dream. Other suggestions I've seen have been for Rainforest Cafe, Johnny Rockets, Ruby Tuesday, Joe's Crab Shack, and Howl at the Moon. I'd be fine with any of those!

Remind me to tell you the story of the time they tried to serve me rare chicken. I thought Fuddrucker's was going out of business? I know they're trimming restaurants in some areas, but I agree, I'd like to have one here. Johnny Rockets is good but if I recall correctly, more of a fast food place. At least it was when I went there last. But very good.

Never actually been to one myself, but the triple prime burger in their TV ads sounds really good. My mom got me a gift card for RT for my birthday, even though the closest location to Evansville is in Louisville. (I've come to find that the Owensboro and Jasper locations have both closed.) They're also in Indy, so I guess I'll have some free food coming my way the next time I'm up there. At least I won't be paying for it if it turns out to be gross! Fuddruckers is very much alive and well, but the closest location to here is in St. Louis. I love that place...great burgers and a cool atmosphere. Johnny Rockets is "fast casual" - the menu is similar to Red Robin, but the atmosphere is more retro-themed. Good turkey burgers there...

Renovations will begin immediately, but no opening date has been set. The Courier says "The new bar will feature a dance floor, live bands and DJs, bars, pool tables, beer pong, a mechanical bull, cowboy arcade and a full service restaurant." Stoney's operates two locations in Las Vegas. Their website is www.stoneysrockincountry.com. Sounds...interesting.
