Its rare to see the amazing support from our amazing fans in light of the season we have experienced. Thank you to all of the maniacs and fans for spreading the word about Icemen hockey to anyone who will and probably a few who won't, listen. The first year here was a wonderful experience. Your cowbell crazy support is certainly appeciated by the players and their families. You are 5 Star all the way.
Other teams and their fans will experience a much better and different Ice Palace here in Evansville next year. It will be awesome and amazing and even louder because we will have room now for 8000+ cowbell ringing, 'you suck' chanting, jersey wearing, face painting and wig adorning fans screaming the Icemen on the a well deserved place of honor with the best of the best CHL hockey clubs. I can't wait.
Thanks also to the staff who worked their collective booties off to provide all of us a memorable year. Thank you first to Ron Geary for having the courage to make the leap of faith into the CHL. You are a treasure as is your right hand alter ego, Greg Hardt. You da man, Greg. Brian, Kara, Bridget, Fic,Luke and the interns who are too countless to mention, thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. Game Ops talent and off ice officials....you know who you are....you are a part of the grease that keeps the machine running well. Thank you....its easy to volunteer, but much harder to follow through and stick out an entire season. Thank you. Rich Kromm....you worked so hard this year to prepare our boys for each game and in less than ideal conditions, but you persevered and and you should be proud of the accomplishments and successes we saw this year.
Thank you also to the players who kept battling the entire season in spite of being considered the "red headed step child" of the league....Next year it will be so much better. Players and families....its so hard at the end of the season to say goodbye, because no one knows what the future holds for you. I think it is safe to say though that you are now a part of the Evansville hockey family and regardless of what circumstances we may all see in the years to come, I'm betting that you will always find a home and your loyal hockey family here in Evansville. Enjoy your summer break and get some well deserved rest.
I can't wait until the HOME OPENER NEXT NOVEMBER. GO ICEMEN!!!!!!
