Apparently a decision about possibly joining the IHL next season (a year earlier than originally announced) is expected by the end of April. One of the key issues will be determining just how expensive it will be to increase Swonder's capacity for a year. Considering how much money the skate park inexplicably makes, I'm guessing it wouldn't be cheap.

For what it's worth, I've submitted a lengthy report to the IceMen brass, touting the upside of the USHL and imploring them to at least look into it as an alternative. It seems awfully likely that one of the outside groups hoping to swoop into Evansville is looking at the USHL, so we need to do the same. If the city thinks the USHL is a better option than the IHL, we need to be prepared to go that route ourselves - otherwise, our little IHL agreement won't mean squat to the city, and we'll be up a creek.
