My predictions for the second round...

Turner - #1 Rapid City vs #6 Fort Wayne
It's the round's marquee series, pitting the defending CHL champs against the 3-time reigning IHL champs. The Rush won both regular-season meetings between the teams, including once in March after the Komets figured things out. Still, that doesn't mean this is going to be an easy road for Rapid City. I think in a 7-game series, the Rush would be more clearly the favorites. But in a 5-game series, there's less room for error. All the Komets have to do is steal one of the first two in Rapid City, and they can then close it out at home. Can they do it? Yes. Will they? I'm not so sure. I'll say Rush in 5, but I won't be surprised at all if the Komets pull it off.

Turner - #2 Colorado vs #4 Missouri
Interesting matchup here, as the lower seed handily won the season series. The Mavs went 5-2-1 against the Eagles, at least in part due to Robby Nolan's talents in net. Goalies can make a huge difference in the playoffs, so I'm going to stick with Nolan and the "underdog" Mavs. Missouri in 4.

Berry - #1 Allen vs #5 Odessa
Allen won the season series 5-2-0. They're the #1 seed and undisputed top-ranked team (in the coaches' poll) for a reason. Americans in 4.

Berry - #2 Bossier-Shreveport vs #3 Tulsa
The Mudbugs took 2 of the teams' 3 regular-season meetings, and have home-ice advantage here. For some reason, I'm thinking they split the first two in Louisiana and split the second two in Tulsa before the 'Bugs take care of business at home in the deciding Game 5. Mudbugs in 5.
