I love to see the fan pics that get posted {the official picture page is not up dated very often] It is far to long a trip to get to see the games so the pics and team news is quite interesting to see. I just wish more team pics , action shots and what the team does in there practice and off ice activities would be great-fully appreciated. thank you a hockey dad.

AAHL Restructures, Relocates Detroit Hitmen

First the Blaze go belly-up, and now the Hitmen are no more...soon to be replaced by a team that was to begin play next season. (Sound familiar?) Also, Chip is the new President and LeagueStat is still an unresolved issue. More details to come, hopefully with an updated schedule. Here's the official press release...

I hate to only comment on negative things in this time of uncertainty in the league, BUT our website is one of the worst looking and worst functioning sites I have ever been to. I understand that the web designer is probably VERY busy with their other jobs or activities and might even possibly be someone who works for the team with other responsibilities and only does the site to further help the team but this site is not something I would not want others, from the outside, to see. The Blaze are dead, the Hitmen may be on the move, LeagueStat is dormant again, and the future of the AAHL is very much in question. But one thing (we hope) is still true...

At 7 PM on Friday night, December 11th, the IceMen and Shooters will once again square off at Swonder!

No big promotion, no game-night sponsor, no Teddy Bear Toss or anything like that...just 2 teams that hate each other duking it out on the ice, with 1000 crazy IceMen Maniacs...

Braves made a couple of bullpen moves...Billy Wagner gets $7M for a year, and Takashi Saito gets $3.2M for a year. At that price tag, are they really a significant improvement over Rafael Soriano and Mike Gonzalez?

In other news, Philly grabbed Placido Polanco for $18M over 3 years, Seattle got Chone Figgins for $36M over 4 years, and the Red Sox signed Marco Scutaro for 2 years with an option.

The IceMen got back on track last weekend with a strong 5-1 win over Detroit, and now the real fun begins...

The red-hot Chi-Town Shooters will provide the opposition for 5 of Evansville's next 6 games - and all 5 of those are at home. First-place Chi-Town has won 10 straight games after a 1-2 start this season, so it's time to really find out what the IceMen are made of. This rivalry always produces emotional and physical games, but our boys will need to stay disciplined...

Teddy Bear Toss at Dec. 5th Game

On Sat. Dec. 5th, as the holidays approach, the IceMen will be working with the organization "911 Gives Hope" to provide teddy bears to children in local hospitals through the first-ever IceMen Teddy Bear Toss! The team is asking that all fans bring a teddy bear (or several) to the 7:45 PM game, and throw them onto the ice after the IceMen score their first goal against the Chi-Town Shooters. All of the bears will then be collected and taken to sick children in local hospitals....

Likely due to the Thanksgiving holiday, it's a fairly quiet weekend in the AAHL. The IceMen only have one game this weekend, and there are just 3 others league-wide. Evansville hosts the Detroit Hitmen on Saturday at 7:45, one of only two times the Hitmen will come to town this season. Tickets, as always, are just 7 bucks. Tiger Seriously Injured

Tiger Woods is apparently in serious condition after a car accident this morning. Authorities say he was pulling his 2009 Cadillac SUV out of the driveway at his gated home in Orlando, when he hit a fire hydrant and a tree. Nobody else was in the vehicle, and alcohol is not believed to be a player in this.

Very odd story that's still developing. I wonder if perhaps an animal ran out in front of him, or something like that. Don't know why else he'd lose control like that...
